Report: COP23 Expert meeting on the Corporate Climate Action Benchmark
The idea for a Corporate Climate Action Benchmark (CCAB) is currently being developed by Index Initiative in partnership with CDP, and will be one of the first World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA) corporate benchmarks once the WBA has been formally established in 2018. However, what is the Corporate Climate Action Benchmark (CCAB)? How does the CCAB measure Corporate Climate Action performance? These and other questions were answered during the first expert meeting of the Corporate Climate Action Benchmark that was held on 13 November 2017 in Bonn, Germany on the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP23). Experts and representatives from civil society, governments and financial institutions participated in this roundtable.
This report summarises the following:
1. The main points from the presentations given by the founding partners of the CCAB, who introduced the WBA and the CCAB, including its scope and methodology.
2. The main discussions among the participants concerning the scope and design of the CCAB.
